With thousands of horizontal wells drilled in several US shale plays in the last decade, crunching data efficiently and properly has become vital to evaluating these assets.  Potyondy has consultant and direct operating experience in many of these plays and is uniquely situated to evaluate your assets.

TECHNICAL RESERVES ANALYSES

Potyondy Engineering can utilize Deterministic & Probabilistic methods for reserves quantification and classification.  A complex tool utilizing SPEE's Monograph 3 techniques including a Monte Carlo simulator will provide an advanced look at potential as well as guide the continuation or cessation of unconventional development projects.

ANALYTICAL DISSECTION

Utilizing Potyondy Engineering's analog databases linked to Spotfire, several insightful charts and methods can be used for reserves, acquisitions, exploration, and completion optimization projects.  PE's datasets are robust and are constructed with data from two leading oil & gas industry providers.

BANK AUDITS

Potyondy has experience with reserves based lending from operator & consultant roles and can perform quick & high-level audits for financial clients.  Concentration review and economic sensitivity & risk analyses found with Monte Carlo simulation help you better understand your risk.  Potyondy Engineering's immense (maintained) datasets aid in this work.

CONVENTIONAL ANALYSES

Utilizing tried and true Reservoir Engineering tools and approaches including petrophysical log calculations, Pickett & Dew plots, volumetrics, material balance, decline curve analysis, etc, Potyondy Engineering can evaluate your conventional assets for reserves, behind-pipe potential, and/or drilling locations.

BIO - BRENDAN POTYONDY, P.E.

Brendan has over 15 years of petroleum industry experience with a focus on Reservoir Engineering. He has worked for public and private independent oil & gas companies, a consulting firm, a midstream gas company, and service companies, both domestically and internationally.

Prior to founding Potyondy Engineering, Brendan led Reserves and Reservoir Engineering duties for unconventional shale operators; his duties included technical reserves/reservoir analyses, reserves modeling, reserves processes improvement, field development optimization & support, acquisition engineering, and liaising with banks on reserves based loans.  As a consultant, he performed reserves evaluations (SEC & non-SEC), worked on waterflood and reservoir simulation studies, and did audit work for lending institutions.  Prior to consulting, Brendan worked in Reservoir Engineering and Business Development Engineering roles where he led reserves & reservoir engineering duties, led large & small acquisition projects, worked on multi-disciplinary field development teams, and worked on reservoir simulation projects.  Brendan also worked for a midstream gas company and was charged with reservoir related duties and managing & optimizing two natural gas storage fields.  Early in his career, he worked as a Wireline Engineer and Logging While Drilling Engineer, where he learned electric logging tool theory and conventional petrophysics.  During Brendan's college years, he worked as a Reservoir Engineer for a minerals acquisition company.

With such a diverse career, Brendan has been able to work on conventional and unconventional projects across most of the US including the GOM shelf.  His software skills are strong, he is highly proficient with Aries, PHDWin, and Petra; Brendan also easily navigates MS Office applications & Spotfire, and can efficiently perform his own tech work from inception to completion of projects.
